As the sun began its descent, casting a golden glow over the rugged peaks, I captured this breathtaking scene just an hour and seventeen minutes from Grey Glacier Refuge. The gentle trail, dotted with vibrant wildflowers, led me through a forest of towering lenga trees. To my right, the serrated peaks of the massive Paine stood tall, their snow-capped summits reaching for the sky. With the crisp mountain air filling my lungs and the distant sound of glacial ice calving, I felt a profound sense of peace and adventure.
